Sizzling tic-tacsss

We crawled out into day light;
Into an open field so bright.
Our nostrils rang the alarm,
the stars would cause us harm.
So zig-zag we ran, Our tissue-thin skin,
Sizzling under the sun
tic-tacs for sand
barefeet starting to smell–sweet.
I ask my comrade; where’d we meet?
